Miraleste
Branch Library
Palos
Verdes, California
This
1950's-style library, sited on a bluff overlooking the San Pedro Harbor
with panoramic views, is overcrowded and outdated for current program
needs. A master plan explored five options and developed one preferred
option with a small children/teen wing addition and an expandable
meeting room added to the existing one story library. The interior
will be reconfigured and technologically updated. The adopted scheme
creates a new entrance terrace, which creates additional exterior
seating for panoramic views, and ties the building directly to the
dual access and views.
