Private Residence
Beverly
Hills, California
Extensive alterations
were undertaken to open up the rear of the house to spectacular views
by means of decks, large
corner windows and new interior spaces for this 6,000 sq. ft.
sixties style Trousdale Estates residence. Complete interior renovations
included a new main
entry and stair, kitchen, masterbath and reconstruction of primary
public spaces. A second phase of construction added a new three-car
garage, storage and work spaces. The design was required to provide
a balance between large expanses of glass for the ocean views and
unobstructed wall surfaces for display of the owners collection of
contemporary art. Extensive use of wood and granite provide a warm
interior environment in contrast with the expansive view of the canyon
to the exterior.
